At the Developmental Disabilities Network forum for the gubernatorial teams yesterday, some of the parents said they fear not being able to afford taking their children off island for medical assistance.

They were disappointed with the seemingly lack of response from health and education officials to the needs of their children and family members with special needs.

They said the hospital has failed to address many of their concerns including having  qualified health professionals.

A young man, Sivia Snow, related how he nearly lost his life because of misdiagnosis, and had he not moved of island he would not be alive.
