Those in boats got the heaviest catch, and palolo fishers along the beach around the airport area, and several parts of the east side including Alega were rewarded.
On Saturday morning a fist of palolo was selling at between $20 to $50 at the marketplace and along the road at Fagaima and Malaeimi.
Reports from Samoa indicate that the catch was especially abundant in Savaii. Palolo sellers were reported to be charging $500 for an ice cream container of the prized delicacy.
Those who didn’t get any this time have next month to look forward to.
