Voter Roll Down by 325

Voters go to the polls in just over three weeks to elect a governor and lt governor, a delegate to Congress and 20 of the 21 members of the American Samoa House of Representatives.

The Election Office has recorded 17,339 registered voters.

That’s down 325 voters compared to the number of registered voters in the 2012 elections.

As of yesterday total absentee votes received is 23 . October 24 is the last day to request absentee votes.

Off island absentee ballots are received up to the day of the general election.

And usually the Hawaiian Air flight on the night before election day would bring in ballots.

In other news from the Election Office, 44 polling places have been selected on Tutuila, Aunuu and Manu’a for voters to cast their ballots on Election Day,

As in previous years t,he majority of poling places are church halls and traditional guesthouses.
