The three teams on the ballot for the election of governor and lt. governor faced off  for the first time in this campaign season at the ASCC gymnasium this afternoon.

The event was the gubernatorial forum hosted by the Student Government Association of ASCC.

Unlike previous gubernatorial forums which were full, there were very many empty seats today.

Following the order by which the candidates names will appear on the ballot, Faoa Aitofele Sunia and Larry Sanitoa were Candidafaoa & Sanitoates number 1 , in the middle sat Lolo Matalasi Moliga and Lemanu Sialega Peleti Mauga as candidates number 2  and Candidates number 3,  Tuika Tuika and Maeva Iuni Savaena were on the far side.

Candidates were given four minutes to make introductions, then in a round robin format they each answered 6 questions.Lolo Lemanu

The forum concluded with four minutes of each team pitching to the crowd why they should vote for them.

The applause heard during the hour and a half forum favored Lolo and Lemanu.

KHJ News counted a handful of directors and deputy directors and several staffers from the Governor’s Office in the audience.

The college definitely did not have the kind of excitement or provocative statements which have been the norm in the US presidential debates., save for the usual rhetoric that people have come to expect from Tuika.TUIKA & IUNI

Differences in the opinions of  the teams came out in their final pitch to the crowd as to why they were the best candidates for governor and lt. governor

First Larry Sanitoa, then Lolo Moliga and finally Tuika Tuika.
