Senators passed in second reading this morning a Senate Joint resolution to add two new senators for Manu’a.
Sponsored by Manu’a Senator Galea’i Tu’ufuli, the joint resolution would involve a constitutional amendment and has the weight of a bill.
It must go through three readings in each chamber.
So the Senate wont have a final reading of the bill until the Fono resumes on October 12.
Then it goes to the House where it must also go through three readings.
When the bill was last discussed, Senator Soliai proposed that Nu’uuli also get additional senators.
Then it was tabled with the Senate Rules Committee until this morning.
