ANA Approves Nearly $300,000 for Tupulaga Taiala

The Administration for Native Americans, an office of the Administration for Children and Families under the Department of Heath and Human Services has awarded a grant totaling $298,964 for the establishment of a youth development and peer leadership project.

The new program entitled, “Tupulaga Ta’iala” will receive its funding as part of the Native Youth Initiative for Leadership, Empowerment, and Development (Native Youth I-LEAD).

Native Youth I-LEAD is an ANA/ACF initiative that aims to fund youth centered and youth driven empowerment and self-development projects for youth, ages 14-24.

Announcing the grant, Congresswoman Aumua Amata said, “It’s vital that we continue to invest in our youth who will grow to become our future leaders.”

She thanked the Administration for Children and Families for providing this funding for the Tupulaga Ta’iala Project and individuals in the territory involved in setting up the project and securing the grant award, including the Project Director Losoloso Iaulualo.
