One World Teach Volunteer Returns for 2nd Term

Among the group of World Teach volunteers who will be teaching in public schools across the territory, Manu’a included, is Leticia Nascimento.

She has signed up for a second term and this time around, her husband, Orpheus Ndahiriwe is joining her at Manu’a High School.

The Brazilian national said that her genuine compassion for the children in Manu’a is one of the reasons why she’s back.

She says she’s excited for the opportunity to continue sharing her knowledge with the Manu’a youngsters.

Leticia is teaching Mathematics while her husband will be teaching Science.

Leiticia and her husband are among the 22 World Teach Volunteers who will be welcoming students at the start of the new school year Monday.

The Field Director Shivaun Wolf told KHJ News that 7 of the World Teach volunteers will be working in Manu’a, 3 in Aunu’u and the rest will be in Tutuila.

At DOE’s opening assembly yesterday Governor Lolo Moliga welcomed the World Teach volunteers and thanked them for their willingness to come to American Samoa.
