FEMA Official Says Others Can Learn from Us

The deputy director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency Region 9, Dr. Ahsha Tribble says the resilience of the people of American Samoa and their socio cultural structure which takes care of people during disasters is something that other states and territories can learn from.

Dr. Tribble headed a group of about two dozen FEMA officials who were here last week for a disaster exercise codenamed Hurricane Matagi ma Savili.

She told KHJ News that the social structure lends well to getting help to disaster victims.
