The US Secretary of Transportation has promised support for Governor Lolo Moliga’s request for increased funding for roads, seawalls and other infrastructure improvements.
This is according to Director of Port Administration Taimalelagi Dr. Claire Poumele who was in the closed door discussions between Secretary Foxx, Governor Lolo and Lt. Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga during the Secretary’s overnight stop over in the territory.
Funding from the Federal Highway Adminsitration for roads, seawalls and other such projects has not increased for several years.
The port director said Secretary Foxx has pledged to assist the territory.
