Hawaiian Air CEO Arrives Tonight

The CEO and President of Hawaiian Airlines, Mr. Mark Dunkerley, is scheduled to arrive on tonight’s Hawaiian Air to meet with local leaders, visit local staff and take in some of the island’s sights.

Traveling with Mr. Dunkerley are Vice President Corporate Communications, Ann Boticelli and Margaret Cummisky, Managing Director of Federal Government Relations.

Ms. Boticelli says Mr. Dunkerley, has wanted to visit for a while and this will be an opportunity for him to get reacquainted with the beauty that he remembers from his last visit. A tour of the island is on his itinerary.

They will also check out Pago Pago International Airport and will sit down to a dinner with the local Hawaiian Air staff.

On Wednesday, they will visit with Governor Lolo Moliga, Senate President Gaoteote Palaie and , Congresswoman Aumua Amata as well as the American Samoa Visitors Bureau. Mr. Dunkerley also hopes to visit the LBJ Hospital.

Ms. Botticelli says she’s bringing copies of the Hawaiian Skies segments that Hawaiian Air commissioned, as well as all of the raw video from those segments for use by the American Samoa Visitors Bureau.

So far there’s been no comments from Hawaiian Airlines on news that the American Samoa Government has expressed interest in Air Tahiti Nui’s plans to operate flights to American Samoa and Honolulu and US mainland as part of its regional expansion.
