The father of a young woman whose boyfriend ‘s death is being investigated by police says his daughter has gone through a terrifying experience from his death and subsequent events.

KHJ News reported last week that relatives of the young man are suspicious that he died as a result of foul play.

According to family members, the man in his early 30’s was with his girlfriend when he died reportedly from suicide.

However they suspect foul play because of wounds seen on his body.

But the girlfriend’s father disagrees.

Mr. Lagolemanu Banner Fanene, who resides in Honolulu, says “it was a terrifying experience for his daughter to find her boyfriend, take him down and release the ie.”

He says his daughter frantically used all her knowledge and skill of CPR to revive her boyfriend.

Mr. Fanene says his daughter is cooperating fully with the Department of Public Safety and has been advised by police not to return to her home in Aua because of several death threats that she has received both directly and indirectly since the tragedy.

He adds that speculation that there was any foul involved has no basis.

Mr. Fanene assures the young man’s family, “my daughter loves him, misses him dearly, and continues to grieve for him every day. Our family loves him too. They had plans for marriage.”
