Pulu Still Waiting for Response from Governor

District Director of Congresswoman Aumua Amata’s Pago Pago Office, Pulu Ae Ae Jr, says he’s still waiting for a response from Governor Lolo Moliga regarding the sidelining of the congresswoman during the high school graduations.

Pulu had first written to the governor in June about the congresswoman not being afforded a seat on stage with the rest of the VIPs at some of the high school graduations.

The governor’s Chief of Staff,  Fiu Johnny Saelua responded to Pulu’s letter saying that upon checking, they could not substantiate Pulu’s claims.

Pulu fired off a second letter to Governor Lolo saying he was merely informing the governor of concerns that parents and students had raised and this was not “a self indulgent effort.”

He told Lolo that his Chief of Staff “surely missed the point and of course twisted the facts.”

Pulu said the parents and students primary concern is that the congresswoman was visibly impeded on several occasions from taking her rightful place on the stage among elected officials and special guests during the graduations.

The district director indicated that efforts to keep the congresswoman from center stage was vividly clear though they were carried out in “a subtle and devious manner.”

He told the governor, a sufficient number of parents, vice principals, teachers and PTA officials saw what took place and were willing to step forward to vouch for what happened.

But he said he will not lend credence to the chief of staff’s “illadviced conclusions or put anyone in harm’s way by disclosing their names or identities.”

Pulu declared, what’s abundantly clear is that the Director of Education, an appointed government official, is now seeking a congressional seat and her “neutrality has now been called into question” as she callously goes about her public duties.
