Scientists Stress Local Input in Research of Fish Stocks

Scientists from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration who carried out studies of certain fish stocks in the Samoan Archipelago are here to discuss their findings with local authorities and resource owners. The studies involved local researchers and students and were carried out using the research vessel Oscar Elton Sette. Lead scientist Joseph OMalley said their research involved people at the village level who have the best knowledge of  the state of their ocean and the marine life in it. Play Audio
