He is one of the boxing officials from the pacific who has been certified as a technical official for the boxing competition.
Paepaetele received his accreditation at the boxing executive meeting just held in the Middle East.

Paepaetele reports that from the entire Oceania region, Australia was the only country to qualify 2 males and 1 female for the Rio Olympics.
Of the 5 wild card slots for male boxers, 3 were given to Oceania, 1 to Fiji, 1 to Papua New Guinea, and 1 to Vanuatu.
One female slot was given to Micronesia.
