Attorney General Talauega Eleasalo Ale has been acting governor since Friday night when Governor Lolo Moliga departed the territory to attend the funeral services of Mrs. Pohakalani Mauga in Honolulu.

Mrs. Mauga died June 30 in Honolulu after losing her battle with cancer.

She would have turned 54 in September.

A memorial service for Mrs. Mauga was held at Lee Auditorium a week ago yesterday.

The governor said in a memo issued Friday that the AG will be acting governor until he returns to the territory July 20.

First Lady Cynthia Moliga is traveling with the governor.

Tomorrow, local government leaders who have traveled to Hawaii, join Lt. Governor Lemanu and his three sons and two grandchildren as well as Mrs. Mauga’s parents and siblings at the CCCAS Kanana fou church in Waipahu to pay their final respects, and lay her to rest.

Viewing is from 8:30 to 9:30 am with a church service at 9:30.

Mrs Mauga, a native of Hawaii, will be buried at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe.

KHJ News understands that the funeral will include cultural presentations between the Lt. Governor’s maternal and paternal clans and Poha’s Hawaiian family.
