American Samoa’s governor and lt, governor for the last four years, Lolo Matalasi Moliga and Lemanu Palepoi Sialega Mauga are asking voters to give them another four years in office.

Their request comes by way of a thank you message in the Samoan language only that’s been running in the Samoa News since last week.

Covering two full pages, the ad, written in formal or oratorical Samoan with many proverbs, is a thank you from Lolo and Lemanu to the territory after the 2016 Flag Day celebration where according to the ad, the territory participated with much enthusiasm in the commemoration of American Samoa’s union with the United States.

The thank you message quotes the words of Mother Teresa, “If we pray, we will believe. If we believe we will love. If we love we will serve.”

The leaders thank servants of God in the various religious denominations and  the elderly mothers and fathers, for their prayers and support.

They point out that the public would have noticed that there’s been a significant change in the relationship between the three branches of government, even though each branch of government is separate and independent of each other, respect is tantamount.

Lolo and Lemanu thank the President of the Senate Gaoteote Palaie Tofau and Senators and Speaker of the House Savali Talavou Ale and Representatives as well as Chief Justice Michael Kruse and members of the Judiciary for their cooperation.

They said the Good Book states, “that 2 or 3 is better than one.”

The leaders thank the young people who were off island it was not hard for the administration to respond to the needs of the youth, those who returned with higher degrees and credentials as well as those who have remained here.

The graduates were told they have contributed much to the development of the territory, their families, organizations and churches.  ‘

Lolo and Lemamu also mentioned by name all of the directors and CEOs of the semi independent authorities for a vote of thanks: ASPA. LBJ, ASTCA, ASCC, Shipyard Services Authority, Visitors Bureau, Development Bank of American Samoa and Library.

They also expressed their gratitude to all members of the cabinet, the Secretary of Samoan Affairs Mauga Tasi Asuega and the District Governors of Manu’a, Eastern District, and Western District, for their service and support.

The last group of people that the leaders mention in their thank you ad is the people.

Lolo and Lemanu told the public their cooperation made it possible for their administration to turn over many stones to uncover benefits for our people.

They apologized for any failures and weaknesses on their part and for services and projects which were unfinished in their tenure.

The two leaders asked for another opportunity to finish programs and services that they were unable to deliver in their first four years in office.

The ad is paid for by the supporters to re-elect Lolo and Lemanu for governor and lt. governor.
