More Than 30 Businesses Sign up for Trade Fair

More than 30 local businesses have registered for the Flag day Trade Fair and local farmers are also expected to make a strong showing at the Farm fair which will prelude the 2016 Flag Day celebration.

Lt. Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga led members of the Flag Day committee and agencies involved in hosting the Trade and Farm Fair in looking over the site and going over the finer planning details at the Suigaula o le Atu Vasa this morning.

The Department of Commerce, American Samoa Visitors Bureau and American Samoa Chamber of Commerce are  coordinating the Trade Show which will involve only local businesses and stores while the Department of Agriculture is in charge of the Farm Fair.

According to Director of Agriculture Lealao Mel Purcell the tents will be set up on Frdaiy, utilities will be installed on Saturday and there’ll be a test run to see of everything is working prior to the opening next Monday.
Director of Health Motusa Tuileama Nua says 11 food stalls have been confirmed.

The Trade and Farm Fair will be held during the day, Monday to Friday next week and in the evening will be performances for the Arts Council and Department of Youth and Women Affairs Flag Day performing Arts Festival.

The preliminaries for the fautasi race will also be held next week culminating in the semi finals on Friday and the finals on Saturday April 16.
