Zero in on Mosquito Larvae

The advice of the team from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on how best to get rid of mosquitoes that spread the virus which causes, Zika, dengue and other mosquito borne diseases is to get rid of the larvae.

The CDC has a seven member team in the territory which is expected to be here for some time to help the Department of Health tackle the zika virus outbreak.

People who have contracted the virus say it’s not as painful as dengue and Chikungunya.

But there’s concern that babies of pregnant mothers with Zika may be susceptible to deformities. .

The number of confirmed Zika cases has climbed to 10, including three pregnant women.

Leader of the CDC team Dr. Thane Hancock says the mosquito that carries the Zika virus bites people outside the home, don’t fly very far and dies after two weeks.

But before that they can lay hundreds of eggs.
