Welcome home Special Olympians

Part of the Special Olympics delegation to the World Games in Los Angeles returned to the territory last night with governor Lolo to a warm welcome at the airport.

The welcoming party including First Lady Cynthia Moliga, Special Olympics Amerika Samoa Committee members Taotasi Archie Soliai, Ameko Pato and Norma Smith, the Governor’s Chief of Staff Fiu Johnny Saelua and staff members.

The governor commended the young athletes for their hard work and said he was very proud of their performance at the World Games.

Governor Lolo encouraged the athletes to acknowledge God in all their efforts, continue to do well, and be attentive and open to instruction.

Soccer coach Brian Vitolio said for the athletes, coaches and chaperones alike the whole trip was an amazing experience.

Committee member Taotasi Archie Soliai said Special Olympics Amerika Samoa has tentatively scheduled a prayer service on August 16th to thank God for His protection of the group and to thank families, friends and the territory for their support.
