Argosy donates computers to Matatula
Argosy University will be delivering next week 15 new computers for Matatula Elementary, the school it adopted under the governor’s Adopt a School Initiative.
Campus Director Fanuatele Dr. Toafa Vaiaga’e approached the governor last year to have Argosy be part of his Adopt a School Initiative.
The university is the only private entity participating in the governor’s school improvement program.
Matatula, which is Fanuatele’s alma mater, was then chosen as Argosy’s school to adopt.
In response to a request from the Tula elementary school, Argosy last year delivered tables and desks for the students.
And Fanuatele said they’ve just received a shipment of new computers, which will be delivered to Matatula next week.
Fanuatele said Argosy wanted to participate in the governor’s school project as a community service by helping improve the learning environment for students of American Samoa.
Argosy last year also awarded scholarships to the American Samoa Community College Phi Theta Kappa, the Miss American Samoa, and most recently for the Department of Education’s Teacher of the Year Program.
