Samoa Air aims for life support system

Samoa Air, is aiming to secure a life support system for its air service for medical evacuations of critically ill patients.

Airline CEO Chris Langton was a founding staff member of Careflight Group Queensland which flies to anywhere in the world to provide Rapid Response critical care to critically ill patients, place them on board airplanes in the case or medical stagg and emergency facilities and rush them to
awaiting hospitals.

Careflight Group has flown to Samoa at least five times on such missions, the last time was last week to stabilize the ICEO of Samoa Quality
Broadcasting Galumalemana Faiesea matafeo.

Galumalemana was airlifted to New Zealand for treatment last Friday.

Langton who was chief pilot and operations manager for Careflight before he met the age limitation has told Talamua online that Samoa Air is trying
to get a life support system for its service.

He says having such medical equipment and service available in the county is important to visitors including elderly Samoans. Langton says travel
insurance helps pay for emergency flight services such as those provided by the Careflight Group.
