Two Men Accused of Stealing from STP

Two men made their initial appearances in District Court today for allegedly stealing rolls of string belonging to one of the canneries.

Lino Penittio and  Tavita Jr Fouleituala face four charges each, one of burglary and three of stealing.

The two are held on bail of $20,000 each.

Its alleged that Penitito who was an employee of Samoa Tuna Processors stole materials including nylon string from the cannery.
Fouleituala, who was an employee of the American Samoa Power Authority allegedly used his vehicle to pick up the stolen materials and take them to potential buyers.

The two men had their cases called before District Court Judge Elvis Patea this morning and were represented by the Public Defender’s Office.

They were remanded back to custody to await their preliminary examination tomorrow.
