Troy Polamalu is out of the public eye, but that doesn’t mean he’s done making a huge impact on society.

Last week, Polamalu and his wife Theodora donated to Operation Once in a Lifetime, a foundation that supports our military in a multitude of ways.

Specifically, the Polamalu family donated to the foundation’s most recent cause, which was taking 30 Veterans from WWII, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan to Arlington National Cemetery and The Vietnam Wall for the first time.

The Pittsburgh Steelers newsletter says, “While millions idolized Polamalu during his 12 year NFL career, the former Steelers safety continues to honor those that protect our freedom on a daily basis.

“Acts like this remind us of who this country’s real heroes are, along with reminding us that, while Troy was a great player, the Steelers’ future Hall of Famer is an even better person.”

This time last year the territory was abuzz with Troy and Theodora Polamalu Foundation’s faaSamoa camp which combined sports and academics.
