A traditional healer who took advantage of a schoolgirl he had treated has been jailed for 12 months for sexual connection with a minor.
The name of the 26-year-old is being withheld to protect the identity of the 15-year-old victim, who is a student at one of the local colleges.
During sentencing, Justice Vui Clarence nelson said the defendant actions were unacceptable and he deserves to be in jail.
Justice Vui added that a prison penalty was necessary because the man not only took the 15-year-old to a nightclub; he also had sex with her later.
This occurred while the victim’s mother was at bingo.
