Here’s the Department of Health’s weekly update of the spread of Zika.
Up to April 28, the number of suspected Zika cases recorded at the Emergency Room of the LBJ Hospital and Community Health Centers at Tafuna, Leone and Amouli is 541.
DOH has tested 126 of those cases, including 59 pregnant women,
Expectant mothers are a special target group in DOH’s prevention and awareness efforts because of a link between mothers who’ve contracted the disease and babies born with abnormally small heads,
The number of confirmed Zika cases has not changed for several weeks now. It has remained at 14…6 of which are pregnant women.
