The Department of Health says 99 blood samples, 8 more than In the last report, were tested of which 48 belonged to pregnant women, the target group for Zika awareness, prevention and treatment.
None of the 8 new blood samples which were tested showed positive results for the Zika virus.
Thus the number of confirmed Zika cases remains at 14, and the number of pregnant woman who contracted Zika remains at 6.
Many people who have been down with the Zika virus don’t go to the hospital but self treat at home.
The disease is similar to dengue fever and chikungunya but those who have experienced it say it’s not as bad as the other two illnesses.
Symptoms of Zika include reddening of the eyes, fever, sore joints and a body rash .
