Tuala-uta Representative Larry Sanitoa today surveyed damage from wave action over the weekend in Fogagogo and Vaitogi.
He visited the home of Mrs Pat Letuli in Fogagogo , where the high surf damaged part of the protective wall.
The Letuli’s beach front estate was littered with rocks and debris which were washed in by the sea.
Sanitoa also visited families in Vaitogi whose homes were affected by the damaging swells.
According to the faipule, residents said that while this is not the first time waves have washed up debris and rocks onto their yards, the waves on Saturday were quite huge and came up all the way to their homes.
Fortunately, nobody got hurt and there were no serious property damage reported.
The Vaitogi residents informed Sanitoa that they sent their children to stay with relatives on Saturday as a precautionary measure.
