Input Invited on Coastal & Marine Spatial Planning

A Public Listening Session is planned for next Wednesday, March 30th to collect opinions from local residents regarding coastal and marine spatial planning around American Samoa.

The session is hosted by a group called the Pacific Islands Regional Planning Body which is contracted by the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission.

The Pacific Islands RPB which is set up by presidential executive order is tasked with the development of a regional plan for the balanced, sustainable management of the coastal and marine resources of the Pacific Islands region.

It is made up of federal, state or territorial government agencies.

The purpose of next Wednesday’s public listening session is to hear from the public their interests, concerns, and perspectives regarding coastal and marine spatial planning around American Samoa.

Representatives of the Pacific Islands RPB have identified and invited individuals whose occupation and experience relates to the development of American Samoa’s ocean plan.

The session is from 5 to 7pm at the Goat Island Cafe, of Sadies by the Sea.

As the listening session starts promptly at 5:00 PM, the hosts asks participants to please arrive by 4:45 PM.
