6:15AM Saturday: The National Weather Service reports that the first half of Amos has passed Tutuila; highest wind speed was 59 miles an hour.
Amos is expected to pick back up as the eye crosses Tutuila bringing the second half of Amos with it.
Amos will then head towards Manu’a.
Manu’a can expect similar wind speed of what Honolulu and Pago’s Weather Offices are calling a “minimal hurricane” with speeds of around 50 miles an hour.
Weather warnings remain in effect and residents are urged to stay indoors until given the okay by the NWS.
