One business owner has decided enough is enough an the time has come to speak out in the media about ASG’s inability to pay local vendors.

Lesa Lolo Pilimai owner of Pacific Refrigeration and Air Conditioning says his business and  many others are dying because the government is not paying for goods and services rendered.

And some of their bills are from last year.

Mr. Pilimai says most of the local businesses are experiencing serious cash flow problems because the government isn’t paying its bills.

And he went as far as saying that things have never been as bad as they are now under the current administration compared to the previous government.

According to Mr. Pilimai,  his company is owed more than $50,000 and for a small business like his , its hard to buy inventory and stay afloat with that kind of account receivable.

What is also upsetting for the businessman is to learn about the frivolous things that the government is spending money on, money that could be spent on paying vendors.

Things like hiring so many employees  and sending so many people off island for meetings.

According to the businessman, the ASG workforce is bloated and many are just getting a paycheck without doing any work.
Pilimai was also critical of the media saying its been slack in reporting the government’s failures.

He said, “we don’t have a strong media like In Samoa; there they are not afraid to take on the government.”

He said most of the business community is suffering but they are not speaking out,  but he’s tired of the silence and is coming to the media to spotlight what’s happening and get ASG to pay local vendors.
