Congresswoman Aumua Amata has officially declared that she is seeking a second term as American Samoa’s non voting delegate to the US House of Representatives.

In a statement announcing her candidacy she says she has been a strong advocate on behalf of the people of American Samoa.

“One of my most important mantras is that the people of American Samoa should make their own decisions on their life and their future.

“I have used this mantra with my colleagues in Congress and they are listening and understand my passion.“

The congresswoman told KHJ News American Samoa now has very strong contacts in Congress and she will continue to make them work for the territory if she’s returned to Washington.
