ANZ Guam Inc. Bank assures those impacted by the triplicate debit charges that their accounts will be reimbursed within the next 24 to 48 hours.

ANZ Interim Country manager Sean Stratton says the problem has been traced to a back office processing error and ANZ sincerely apologizes to those impacted.

Those affected were customers of other banks who made purchases with their bank cards on ANZ’s point of sale machines.

Instead of debiting the persons account once, the account was debited three times.

Stratton says they have identified all of the accounts which were affected and those accounts will be reimbursed by tomorrow or the next day.

He explains customers will not need to contact ANZ or their bank in order to have their accounts credited.

The Interim Manager says he has personally discussed the error with those who have visited or called the bank and regrets that the gentleman quoted in our news yesterday had left when he was available to discuss the problem.

Stratton says he appreciates the understanding of those who contacted the bank regarding the triplicate debits and again apologizes for the inconvenience they’ve experienced.
