Tropical Storm Victor is moving south and away from American Samoa.

This afternoon it was 320 miles south east of Pago Pago and 240 miles southeast of Manu’a.

Manu’a remains under a hurricane warning while Tutuila and Aunuu are under a wind advisory.

These advisories and watches are expected to be cancelled in the coming hours as Victor moves on it’s southerly track away from American Samoa.

waves1Manu’a can expect heavy rainfall into tomorrow morning but again those conditions will improve as the system blows south.

The biggest threats are in the ocean right now.

The National Weather Service has projected 25 foot surf and has issued maritime warnings like a gale watch for Manu’a and a gale warning for Tutuila and Aunuu coastal waters.
