Associate Justice Judge Lyle Richmond today sentenced Iafeta Sau to five years imprisonment which was suspended for a six month jail term and a fine of $1,000.
Sau begins serving his jail sentence today.
Last month, the defendant pled guilty to first degree sexual abuse involving a 17 year old faafafine.
The defendant was represented by Assistant Public Defender Michael White and prosecuting the case was Assistant Attorney General Bob Pickett.
Associate Justice Richmond was assisted on the bench by Associate Judges Mamea Sala Jr. and Tunupopo Alalafaga.
