Singing Career Takes off for Malaeloa Youth

Malaeloa native, Fonomaalii Mason Mataele, has been chosen to sing for a Christian ministry a capella group called, Keepers of the Faith Quartet, based in Puyallup, Washington.

Mason, a 2008 graduate of Leone High School, has been singing since he was a little boy.

He joined the Leone High School Swing Choir in his freshman year

He was contacted by the quartet group two weeks ago after seeing his videos on YouTube and Facebook.

Mason wrote, “I couldn’t believe it! I left Hawaii yesterday to start a new journey to pursuing my passion and I’m beyond excited and so I’m humbled by this opportunity, God surely has shown favor on me.”

Mason has his first professional gig today in California; and then go on tour in Canada next month.
