The second batch of tax refund checks will be issued tomorrow April 1st, and that’s’ no April fool’s joke.
Treasury issued a notice to the media this morning saying that at 10 tomorrow morning, the next batch of refund checks will be issued.
The filing dates included in the batch that will be disbursed tomorrow are February 1 to the 3rd and the total value of the checks is $1.2 million.
Treasury released the first refund checks on March 11 and since then wage earners expecting refunds have been constantly calling the Tax Office, Disbursing Office and news media enquiring if Treasury has announced when the next batch would be release.
Many speculated that Treasury would issue the checks in time for Easter but that didn’t pan out.
Treasurer Ueligitone Tonumaipea advises those expecting checks to remember the dates they filed as as the disbursement is done according to the date of filing.
