Monday is a federal and American Samoa Government holiday commemorating the birthday of the slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.
Governor Lolo issued a memo declaring the holiday on Monday and said all government departments will be closed, however eesential services of the government will be continued.
Federal agencies like the Post Office and Social Security will also be closed.
The two commercial banks, ANZ and Bank of Hawaii, are observing the holiday so they will not be opened.
Many businesses are also closed.
