Pacific Judicial Council Says Thank You

The Pacific Judicial Council, the organization of chief justices , judges and court officials from the US Pacific are wrapping up their annual conference at Sadies by the Sea today.

The conference is not open to the media but KHJ News was allowed to take photos and do a brief interview with one of the officers, Judge Philip Carbullido, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Guam and Chairman of the Pacific Judicial Council Education Committee.

The atmosphere at Sadies by the Sea conference room was relaxed with judges looking less stern, without their judicial robes and looking smart in their ie faitaga or trousers and aloha shirts .

Mediation and human trafficking have been key topics of discussion at the four-day meeting.

Associate Justice Carbullido said it’s been worth waiting to meet in American Samoa for the first time in 25 years since the council was formed.

He wanted to convey the Council’s appreciation to the hosts.
