Pacific Judicial Council Meets Here Next Month

???????????????????????????????

Chief Justices from the US Pacific are meeting in American Samoa next month.

The Pacific Judicial Council, comprising chief justices and judges of American Samoa, Chuuk, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, Guam, Kosrae, the Republic of Palau, Pohnpei, and Yap is meeting here the week before Flag Day.

Jon Clemens, Legal Counsel for the High Court of American Samoa, says 14 Council members will be attending the conference.

The Council usually meets in the north Pacific but for their 2016 meeting, the members have opted to meet in the South Pacific and be guests of Chief Justice Michael Kruse and the American Samoa Judiciary.

Clemens says a committee of court staff is planning the hosting of the conference and a venue and program have yet to be finalized.
