At Friday’s cabinet meeting, the first for the new year, Governor Lolo Moliga stressed that directors should stay on top of overtime hours for their employees.
Following complaints from employees of Public Safety that they have not been paid overtime that they worked in FY2015, the governor has decided to pay out overtime for police in the last fiscal year only.
He has also directed the Commissioner of Public Safety to review overtime claims for prior years.
The governor told directors Friday that some claims were recorded by individual employees and kept in their drawers.
Lolo said this is unacceptable.
