The United States Army Reserve American Samoa Survivor Outreach Services is spreading love the day before and on Valentine’s Day.

It’s hosting Operation Love letters 2016.

This is an annual celebration to honor fallen soldiers and loved ones through fellowship and writing love letters, poetry, creating greeting cards and sharing lovable nuggets of their soldier.

The celebration takes place in February to commemorate soldiers love for country by paying tribute to our love for them.

The activities for the day include a walk, run and exercise session at the OMV Track beginning at 5:30 which is open to the community.

You’re invited to walk as a family, with friends, co workers, or whatever catches your fancy.

After you sweat, a light breakfast will be served by survivors families and volunteers.

Then from 7:30 am to noon at the Army Reserve Center, families and children of survivors will have their Love Letter Operation.

For the adults there’ll be a talk story session, fellowship sharing, and letter writing on balloons.

For the children and youth aged 3 -17, there’ll be a keepsake puzzle, scrapbook activity, balloon tower, and letter writing on balloons.

And on Sunday, Valentine’s Day there’ll be a worship service in memory of all fallen heroes and loved ones.

This will be held at the CCJS Church in Fagatogo from 3-4:30 pm and is open to the community.

Guest speakers are Chaplain Col Charles Lunde and Reverend Elder Faamao Asalele.

To RSVP call Mrs Julia Foifua at 699-9216.
