Judge Elvis Patea yesterday denied bail reduction for a man charged with attempted sodomy of his step daughter.
At the initial appearance for Salene aka Salend Singh in District Court yesterday his attorney Assistant Public Defender, Mathias McCormick requested that his client’s bail be reduced from $50,000 to $20,000.
District Court Judge Elvis Patea explained that due to the nature of the allegations against the defendant, its denying the counsel’s request.
According to court affidavits, on December 18th, 2015 the defendant attempted to commit deviate sexual intercourse with the victim, a minor.
Singh’s preliminary examination is set for next Wednesday.
