While there were many government and military dignitaries attending Flag Day from Hawaii, the mainland and from neighboring islands, many business people from off-island were also guests at the celebrations.

There were officials from alternative energy companies which have been awarded renewable energy projects in Manu’a being funded with proceeds of the American Samoa Economic Development Authority bonds, a hospitality industry businessman from Indonesia, and a heath food and natural medicine producer out of Florida.

Michael Fishman owns several companies that grow plants and trees with medicinal properties and also manufactures natural healing supplements and food products that are known to be good for the body.

In the VIP Lounge at the Veterans Memorial Stadium, Fishman and an associate were displaying some of their products during the Flag Day ceremonies on Monday.

He plans to lease acreage in the territory to grow trees and plants from which to manufacture in the territory, products for the local market and for export.

But for starters he is looking for an agent to market products by one of his best sellers, Nine Mile Botanicals.
