17262030

According to LBJ CEO Taufetee John Faumuina Jr,. the hospital morgue is full to capacity.

Speaking at yesterdays’ cabinet meeting, Taufetee said there are 34 bodies in the morgue and some have been there for a long time, that families of the deceased have chosen not to collect the remains of their loved ones.

Taufetee said the bodies in the morgue are both of locals and people  from off island who have died here.

He told the meeting that he would have to force families to collect the bodies of their family members which are in the morgue because there’s no space.

The CEO cracked a joke which elicited laughs from some directors while others didn’t see any humor in his comment.

He said if anyone is looking for a body for a funeral or falavalelave that the hospital can provide them with one,.

Governor Lolo Moliga told directors they should talk to their families and he hopes when they “are called” that their families will not be forgotten in the morgue.
