The American Samoa Government owes the Satala shipyard a total of $114,000.

This is according to a statement by the Interim CEO of the Shipyard Services Authority, Moefa’auo Bill Emmsley, at Friday’s cabinet meeting.

He did not name the government agencies that owe the shipyard but he generally asked that any government entity owing the shipyard money to please pay their debts as the shipyard has work they need to carry out and paying their IOU’s would be a big help.

Governor Lolo Moliga repeated Moefaauo’s request and asked departments that owe the shipyard money to make an effort to pay up.

The biggest debtor is reported to be Port Administration for repairs to the MV Sili and other vessels.
