In one of the best-attended caucuses in American Samoa’s history, hundreds turned out at the Veteran’s Hall for the Republican Party of American Samoa’s caucus.

Attendees enjoyed hearing call-ins from all three remaining candidates, Kasich, Cruz and Trump. There was also a town-hall forum in which local Republicans made their case for their favorite candidates.

A slate of delegates was ratified through acclamation by all who attended as well.

American Samoa has a total of 9 delegates. Three at large: Chairman Utu Abe Malae, National Committeeman Su’a Carl Schuster and National Committeewoman Congresswoman Aumua Amata.

The 6 delegates are Vice Chairman John Raynar, Taulapapa William Sword, Charles Warren, Treasurer Tina Ioane, Ann Longnecker and Joan Galea’i Holland.

There are six alternates – Jim Longnecker, Salote Schuster, Atonio Ioane, Lucia Bartley, John Laumatia and Roy Hall.

These delegates and alternates will all attend the Republican National Convention at Cleveland in July as an unbound delegation from American Samoa.
