FEMA Impressed with AS Homeland Security

Other than for a team from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to be on island when Tropical Cyclone Amos hits,  ASG is not submitting any other request for assistance from the federal agency.

A team of more than 50 federal employees from FEMA and other agencies with disaster responsibilities arrived Friday in anticipation of a damaging Cyclone Amos, which turned out to be a timid and harmless storm.

Ryan Brown, FEMA IMAT Region 9 Team Leader said that they were very pleased with the local Department of Homeland Security’s preparedness and coordination efforts with FEMA which resulted in their fast arrival before the cyclone was to arrive here.

Before the team leaves the territory they want to help with preparedness and how to protect lives, and property in natural and man made disasters.

A useful website  that the group is promoting is Ready.Gov, a grassroots campaign for action to increase community preparedness and resilience.
