The induction of public school teachers meeting certification requirements is continuing.

This week, the Department of Education held induction ceremonies for secondary school teachers.

Assistant Director of DOE’s Office of Curriculum and Instruction Netini Sene said the induction helps push teachers to upgrade their credentials and be in compliance with DOE requirements in order to teach in public schools.

Sene says this also helps achieve the goal of the DOE Director’s five year plan for the department which is to have only teachers with four year degrees and certified in the classroom.

Elementary school teachers will be inducted next week.
