Community Responds to Linen Drive for LBJ

The LBJ Hospital asked and it received.

Last month, a letter went out to organizations, churches and businesses seeking linen like bed sheets, pillow case, towels and the like.

It’s been a standard practice for patients to furnish their own linen because the hospital didn’t have enough.

But the LBJ’s Infection Control Committee was concerned that the use of outside linen increased the chance of infection.

This led to the American Samoa Nurses Association/Women’s Fellowship Committee Linen Drive for the Hospital.

Letters asking for donations of linen supplies that the hospital needed or money to purchase the needed supplies went out to churches, community organizations and businesses.

The CEO of the LBJ Hospital, Taufetee John Faumuina Jr., today gave a list of those who have responded with donations.

They are:

1. Nana’s Landscaping (Mrs. Fiapa’ipa’ Fruean) which donated $5000;

2. Faletua ma Tausi or the wives of chiefs of Alofau – $500;

3. CCCAS Alofau – Rev. Sanerivi Mulitalo – $1000;

4. Aua Assembly of God Church – Rev. Mauga ma le Faletua – $3000

On behalf of the LBJ Hospital Board, management and staff, CEO Taufetee thanked all the donors for their generosity which will be of big help to the hospital.
