The cases of four  men charged in the drive-by shooting of the police substation in Leone in  2014 will be consolidated.

A High Court hearing for Manu lefatia, Sinapati Tu’ufa’anatu, Tuliese Taliu and Mosegi Solia has been continued to July 17th.

Public funds via the  Public Defender’s Office are paying for the defense of three defendants in the case.

Only Manu Lefatia has private counsel…he’s represented by Sharron Rancourt.

Public Defender Douglas Fiaui and assistant PD’s Karen Shelly and Michael White are defending  the others.

This morning in Associate Justice Lyle Richmond’s courtroom, while one of the counsels was trying to set a continuance date , one of the defendants stood up and walked to where his lawyer was sitting.

There was no reaction from the prison guard who escorted the defendants to court.

The same defendant was trying to make contact with the court marshal who waved him off.

Another defendant stomped his feet upon hearing his lawyer agree to scheduling their pre trial conference  in September .

After a few minutes of deliberation between the judges and Sharron Rancourt, the court agreed to have the quartet  back in court
on June 27th.

This was received with nods of agreement from some of the defendants.
